The laser applies energy to the vein. The energy produced by the laser is converted to heat which heats the blood inside the veins.  This heat is enough to damage the vein walls which are then reabsorbed by your body slowly over the weeks following treatment.

Small, facial veins can be removed quickly, sometimes with just a single treatment. Spider veins and moderate size (up to 3 mm wide) blue-green leg veins can also be treated with excellent results.

Patients often find that one or two treatments are sufficient for most unwanted facial veins on the cheeks and chin, although nasal veins may require several treatments. Unless they're caused by underlying venous disease, an average of three treatments will effectively reduce most treated spider veins on the legs.

This newest generation laser minimizes any burning sensation since the attachment head is cold water-cooled.

Before the XEO laser treatment starts, you will be provided with special protective eyewear to ensure your safety. Discomfort is usually minimal.
The side effects of laser treatment are typically very minimal but will depend on the specific skin problem being addressed. For example, more aggressive treatments may cause redness, bruising and mild swelling, while other treatments may leave no visible signs.

You can expect a pink or reddish painless discoloration of treated areas, usually lasting several hours. Laser spider vein removal usually requires a series of two to six treatments. The interval between treatments will vary depending on the location on your body that's being treated. You may be asked to avoid sun exposure for a short time afterward, depending upon the area treated. You'll be provided specific instructions at the time of treatment.
